The building’s history
Broadbent’s Hat Works
Nos. 51–55 Stockport Road were listed Grade II on 14 July 1987. Built in two parts of Flemish-bond brick — three storeys with a slate roof — the façade still shows hand-made bricks with contrasting headers and stretchers from the second quarter of the 19th century. Once a thriving Victorian hat manufactory, the building has been restored as modern professional workspace.
